During Los Angeles Lakers Media Day last Monday, LeBron James couldn't hide his excitement at the prospect of playing alongside his eldest son this upcoming season.
“It’s a lot of excitement. Just pure joy, to be honest, to come to work every day and put in hard work with your son. We push each other… just a very joyous moment not only for myself but for our family,” LeBron James said.
The Los Angeles Lakers signed Bronny James to a standard contract after taking him via the No. 55 overall pick of this summer's NBA Draft. Although he's expected to play in the first few games, Bronny James will likely spend more time in the G League for his development.
Anthony Davis can't wait to see LeBron and Bronny James play together
Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis is also stoked to see LeBron and Bronny James play together this upcoming season, describing it as surreal.
“It’s still surreal to me that he’s on the same team as his dad. And I get to be a part of it and witness each and every practice, each game, and each moment that they have for at least his first year,” Davis said. “I can’t wait till they step on the floor together and officially make history. But it’s been super dope to watch so far.”
Los Angeles will open their 2024-25 campaign at home on October 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
