The NBA 2K franchise has released its latest edition, ‘2K25'. The release of the highly-anticipated game definitely thrilled many fans and players alike.
Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant shared which players will make it to his starting 5, and your faves may or may not be here.
KD’s Starting Five
Kevin Durant has shared his ideal NBA 2k25 starting 5 in an episode in Boardroom Talks, and he started his roster off with Dallas Mavericks Luka Dončić.
This list was followed by NBA icon LeBron James then, no other than, himself. KD also added that he wanted Joel Embiid on his team because he can shoot better than Nikola Jokic in the game.
“Embiid at my five, because Embiid can shoot the three better than Jokic on the game.”
KD closed off his list with Klay Thompson as his snipe and said, “You gotta go with somebody like Klay. He’s 6’7, he’s shooting that thing like that.”
“Yeah. I would go Luka, Klay, me, Bron, Embiid,” he recapped.
Who Was Left Out
People couldn’t help but notice that KD’s perfect line-up did not include his teammates from the Suns or his former Golden State Warriors teammate Stephen Curry.
Surprisingly enough, Durant also left out Brooklyn Nets teammate Kyrie Irving. None of his former OKC teammates also made the cut.
However, it seems that people forget that some of the people within KD’s starting 5 were also people with whom he was teammates with.
Durant had great chemistry with Thompson during the Golden State Warriors run. He was also a Team USA representative alongside James and Embiid during the 2024 Paris Olympics where they brought home the gold.
KD picked a very interesting set of players for his NBA 2K25 line-up, and this team will surely win him some games. With many stars on the court and in the game, it’s hard to include everybody in his life in his ‘perfect line-up.' It does spark up some controversy though when it’s about his notable former or current teammates.
