Who Is Alexis Rodman?
Alexis Rodman is Dennis' eldest daughter, whom he shares with his first wife, Annie Bakes. Dennis and Annie’s relationship was reportedly on and off, but sealed the deal still back in September 1992. The couple then divorced after 82 days. Alexis would be primarily raised by her mother, resulting in a strained relationship with her dad.
Jumping back to the present time, Alexis Rodman is thriving in her 30s as a swimmer and swim coach. She married Robert Bunfill back in 2014 and is currently a mother of one.
Their Relationship
One of the best rebounding forwards in court admits he has had shortcomings as a father to his three children. In an emotional interview with Oprah back in 2013, he mentioned that he just recently saw then 24-year old Alexis for the first time in years. It was only then that the father-daughter started building a relationship with each other. Dennis shares that he was initially shocked and didn’t know how to act.
Rodman has not always been present in his children’s lives, but the NBA legend has been trying to make amends. Fortunately, he and Alexis were able to mend their relationship in time for Dennis to be there for important events in his daughter’s life. Dennis struggled in his parenthood journey, but he is apparently trying to make up for that by being a cool grandad to Vincent, Alexis’ son.
Currently, it seems that Dennis and Alexis’ relationship is doing pretty well despite years of rough patches.
