A lot of Minnesota Timberwolves fans are grateful for the entrance of Anthony Edwards into their franchise. Ant Man has been able to revive the squad from mediocrity and pushed them into title contention after he was drafted into the NBA. However, a lot of spectators don't know much about his family. More importantly, who are his parents?
For starters, Anthony Edwards was raised by Chrisha Yvette Edwards and Shirley Edwards. His mother and grandmother respectively kept pushing him to do well both in school and on the court. This support propelled him into success up to the point where he was recruited to join the Georgia Bulldogs in college. While his father Roger Caruth was largely absent from his life, the young Anthony was kept in check by those two people in life.
Unfortunately, his grandmother and mom passed before his named could be called in the NBA Draft. Ant Man still found a way to honor their legacy the moment he was selected first overall by the Timberwolves. He was able to do so by having a portrait of Shirley and Chrisha by his side during draft night. Every moment Anthony had on the court is dedicated to both of them.
Now, Edwards was able to lead the Timberwolves into clinching their first Western Conference Finals since 2004. Each and every statistic that the young Anthony records are all in honor of them. Hopefully, his fire never fades so that he could always make them proud.
