Being dubbed as a finalist for the NBA MVP would make people think that a player's career would last very long. However, this was not the case for Isaiah Thomas. After he was let go by the Boston Celtics, the small but insanely talented guard could not hold on to a rotation spot. This led him to get bounced out of the league for good. Isaiah Thomas was on pace to become one of the greatest Celtics ever. He was the closest player that the iconic team had to winning the MVP since Larry Bird back in 1986. His performances in the playoffs got a young and inexperienced squad over tough situations. Despite this, the organization did not hesitate to ship him off at the first sight of his hip injury.
Since then, he was not able to thrive under any type of system because they simply did not trust him enough with the ball. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and New Orleans Pelicans gave him a shot but it was to no avail.
Despite getting bounced out of the NBA at such an early age, Thomas amassed quite the career earnings. He notched about $32.7 million in just salary alone.
