No one in the realm of women's basketball has come close to the fame of Caitlin Clark. She made a name for herself with the Iowa Hawkeyes and led the Indiana Fever to a postseason berth in her WNBA rookie year. It's clear that other leagues may want to get a piece of that pie if it's available. Some have suggested that the EuroLeague could be a nice place for her to ball out during the offseason. Does this hold any water?
Well, it might be heartbreaking for European fans but Caitlin Clark is not leaving the WNBA to join the EuroLeague. She is very committed to play with a chip on her shoulder such that the Fever could rise into championship contention in the next season. So, any distractions and risks that may disallow her from attaining that very goal are going to be removed from her periphery. This includes competing in Europe for extra cash over the winter and spring.
There are other rumors about Clark joining other leagues in the USA. Unrivaled, for instance, has expressed interest in trying to sign the WNBA sensation. This is a 3x3 basketball league that was founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. While WNBA rules allow her to do so, it looks like she also has no interest in signing with the aforementioned league. This is despite the fact that other players like Kate Martin, Aliyah Boston, and Lexie Hull have already signified their willingness to join.
It looks to be very clear. Clark is focused on winning a WNBA championship as early as possible. She is removing all the distractions on her way and doing all that she can to stay in shape during the off-season. This star out of the Fever system is also not trying to risk injuries in leagues outside of the WNBA.
