Do WNBA Players Hate Caitlin Clark?

Vitriol is something that most professional athletes cannot avoid. One might even say that the level of criticism that they receive becomes directly proportional to their fame. Caitlin Clark has been the subject of all these tough comments, not just from fans but also from other WNBA players. Do her colleagues in the association actually despite her or is there a deeper reason?
WNBA players don't necessarily hate Caitlin Clark. Many have given her the props that she deserves but they cannot stand the media train that comes after the Indiana Fever star. Often, the 2024 first overall pick is all people could talk about even if she is out of the picture. A lot of this is rooted in the fact that the league revenue massively grew due to her. Some adjustments in league protocols have also changed, just like when they moved from flying commercial to private.
Sue Bird had a big opinion on this matter and even clarified what her fellow legend, Diana Taurasi, meant when it came to the alleged vitriol that the Fever star was getting: "Obviously, I'm assuming Diana saying that 'rookies are going to need to adjust.' Somehow, that got twisted and turned around and now has taken on a life of its own. And there's this narrative that WNBA players are hating on Caitlin or don't like her. That's not the case. So I think things have gotten really twisted up,"
Clark is only starting her career and obviously there will be more of these types of narratives floating around. After all, this superficial beef that the rest of the league apparently has with her drives up viewership because fans want to see how the Fever star reacts to various other players.
