Caitlin Clark has been the face of women in the world of basketball. Adored by many, Clark’s talent and beauty have not gone unrecognized. Connor McCaffery, a former athlete at the University of Iowa, has stolen the Indiana Fever basketball player’s heart.
The couple started dating in April 2023 but only made their relationship public four months later. Caitlin Clark posted a carousel of photos on Instagram with McCaffery and captioned it, “Best end to summer.”
The couple have been affectionate towards each other on their social media accounts. They post photos of one another and pen sweet messages on special occasions.
All About Connor McCaffery
Connor was actually a former basketball player for the University of Iowa. His accomplishments did not end with basketball, as he also excelled in his studies, earning an Academic Excellence Award for five seasons.
According to Hawkeye Sports, Connor also received awards such as five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, three-time NABC Honors Court, two-time Academic All-District First Team, two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, and NABC Honors Court honoree.
Connor was also a standout baseball player. He played both corner outfield spots and first base. He was ranked by D1Baseball.com as the seventh-best draft prospect in the Big Ten and the 231st-best prospect nationally. However, the injuries and health complications became a problem for Connor and his baseball dreams.
He is also planning to follow in his father’s footsteps. Fran McCaffery, head coach of the University of Iowa for 14 years, has influenced his son into wanting a coaching career as well.
Connor spoke with Des Moines Register wherein he shared his plan to climb the ladder with his NBA job with the Indiana Pacers. He said, “It’s a way in. It’s an entry-level job. You’ve got to work hard and work your way up. That’s obviously what I want to do.”
Connor McCaffery and Caitlin Clark have been very supportive of one another throughout their relationship. In April 2024, they celebrated their first anniversary to which they shared a photo online. Clark has also greeted McCaffery on his birthday recently on Instagram, so it’s safe to say they’re still happily together.
