These are the Top 10 Chicago Sky players of all time, and it sure is a great list of star athletes.

Sylvia Fowles - #1

Sylvia Fowles is undoubtedly the greatest player in Chicago Sky history. The dominant center was selected 2nd overall by the Sky in the 2008 WNBA Draft and went on to have a Hall of Fame career with the franchise.

Fowles was selected to the WNBA All-Star team 3 times and led the Sky to its first ever WNBA Playoff berth and Eastern Conference Championship. She is the Sky's all-time leader in several key categories, including seasons played (7), games played (186), minutes (5,755), points (2,927), rebounds (1,832), free throws made (672), field goals made (1,127), career rebounding average (9.9) and rebounds in a single game (22). Fowles was the cornerstone of the Chicago Sky for seven seasons and is widely considered one of the top 10 players in WNBA history. Her dominant two-way play, elite rebounding, and championship pedigree make her the clear choice as the greatest Sky player of all-time.

 

Candice Dupree - #2

Candice Dupree was the Chicago Sky's first-ever draft pick, selected 6th overall in the 2006 WNBA Draft after a standout college career at Temple University. The Tampa Bay native made an immediate impact, earning WNBA All-Rookie Team honors in her debut season.

Dupree quickly established herself as one of the Sky's most consistent and productive players. She was named an All-Star in 2007 and helped the team improve from a 5-29 record in their inaugural season to 14-20 in 2007. Dupree's numbers continued to improve, as she averaged 15.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in 2009, earning her first All-Star start.

Prior to the 2010 season, Dupree was traded to the Phoenix Mercury in a three-team deal. In her 4 seasons with the Sky, Dupree totaled 2,100 points and 980 rebounds in 135 games, cementing her status as one of the franchise's all-time greats. Her durability was also impressive, as she did not miss a single game during her Sky career.

 

Epiphanny Prince - #3

Epiphanny Prince was the 4th overall pick in the 2010 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky, forgoing her senior year at Rutgers to begin her professional career. The Brooklyn native made an immediate impact, earning WNBA All-Rookie Team honors in her debut season. 

Prince's numbers improved significantly in her sophomore campaign, as she boosted her averages to 13.1 points, 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game. She also earned her first WNBA All-Star selection that year. 

The 2012 season was Prince's breakout year, as she averaged a career-high 18.1 points per game to go along with 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists. She recorded a career-best 33 points in an overtime win against Atlanta and was named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week twice that season. Prince played 5 seasons with the Sky before being traded to the New York Liberty prior to the 2015 season. She finished her Sky career with 1,806 points, 473 assists and 273 steals, cementing her status as one of the franchise's all-time greats. 

Candace Parker - #4

Candace Parker was the 1st overall pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft, selected by the Los Angeles Sparks. However, she spent the first 3 seasons of her WNBA career with her hometown Chicago Sky, where she established herself as one of the league's premier players. 

In her rookie season, Parker averaged 18.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.3 steals per game, earning WNBA Rookie of the Year and WNBA MVP honors. She followed that up with another stellar campaign in 2009, making her first WNBA All-Star team. 

Parker's combination of size, skill, and athleticism made her a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. She could score from all three levels, rebound at a high level, and also facilitate the offense as a point-forward. Parker's impact on both ends of the floor was a major reason for the Sky's success during her tenure. Although Parker's time in Chicago was relatively short, she left an indelible mark on the franchise and is considered one of the greatest players to ever wear a Sky uniform.

 

Courtney Vandersloot - #5

Courtney Vandersloot was selected 3rd overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2011 WNBA Draft after a standout college career at Gonzaga. The diminutive point guard quickly established herself as one of the league's premier floor generals, leading the Sky to the playoffs in her rookie season. 

Vandersloot's playmaking ability and court vision were on full display throughout her Sky career. She led the WNBA in assists per game in 2015 and 2016, and finished her tenure with the franchise as the all-time leader in assists. Vandersloot's ability to create scoring opportunities for her teammates was a major reason for the Sky's success during her tenure. 

In addition to her passing prowess, Vandersloot also developed into a reliable scoring threat, improving her shooting percentages each season. She was named to the WNBA All-Star team in 2015 and helped the Sky reach the WNBA Finals in 2014.

Quigley's scoring prowess was on full display during her tenure with the Sky. She led the league in 3-point percentage in 2014 and 2015, and was a 3-time WNBA 3-Point Contest champion. Quigley's ability to space the floor and knock down open shots made her an invaluable asset to the Sky's offense.
