Franchise history
- 1967: Founded as the Dallas Chaparrals, a charter member of the ABA (briefly the Texas Chaparrals in 1970–71).
- 1973: Moved to San Antonio and became the Spurs.
- 1976: Joined the NBA through the ABA–NBA merger.
- 2002: Moved into the SBC Center, now the Frost Bank Center (renamed from AT&T Center in 2023).
- 2025: Gregg Popovich stepped down as head coach after 29 seasons and became president of basketball operations.
