Dana White is the CEO of the UFC and owner of Power Slap. He is considered to be one of the greatest combat sports promoters in history. 

Early Life

Dana White was born in Manchester Connecticut on July 28, 1969. White spent his early childhood years  in Ware Massachusetts. White moved to Las Vegas with his family when he was in third grade. He spent his summers in Maine. He briefly attended Umass Boston and Quincy College before dropping out. White became friends with Golden Gloves boxer Peter Welch and they opened a gym together in South Boston. White returned to Las Vegas in the early 1990s. 

White continued to run boxing gyms and later trained in jiu-jitsu. Throughout his   jiu-jitsu training Dana White met Tito Ortiz and Chuck Lidell becoming their managers.

Career Highlights

In 2001, White’s childhood friend Lorenzo Fertitta and his brother Frank purchased the UFC for $2 million. They made White the organization’s President Dana White’s first UFC cards, were UFC 30 and UFC 31 which were located in Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City New Jersey. 

Fertitta's and White sold the company to Endeavor for 4.025 billion in 2016. In 2017, White announced Dana White’s contender series on UFC Fight Pass. He co-promoted Mayweather vs McGregor in 2017. Dans White is the owner of Power Slap which was founded in 2023. Dana White plans to enter boxing promotion in 2025.
