There is a lot that goes into the world of snowboarding. The balance on the board all the way to the intensity of the competition due to the climate all factor into how one performs at the highest stages of competition. So, who have been the people that reigned supreme over others in battles like the Olympics and X Games?
Shaun White
Perhaps, the biggest name out of the world of snowboarding. Shaun White has won it all and then some. The Flying Tomato has managed to bust out moves in such fast speeds that a lot of snowboarders replicate their way of playing the sport after him. His list of accolades include three Olympic gold medals and two X Games golds too. Furthermore, he is also the most accomplished person on the board with 10 X Games medals under his belt.
Chloe Kim
Surely, the title of GOAT in snowboarding has some competition from the opposite gender. This is where Chloe Kim comes in. She is the youngest snowboarder to have completed snowboarding. This is all because she won the X Games, Youth Olympics, World Championships, and the Olympics throughout her career. Furthermore, she won the world's oldest sporting event not just once in her life but twice.
Anna Gasser
The parity of genders surely exists in snowboarding. Anna Gasser is usually ranked higher than her male counterparts due to the insane amount of achievements she netted despite starting in the sport late. She only picked up a board at 18 years old but managed to win two Olympic gold medals. Furthermore, Gasser's backside double cork and 20 major wins puts her at the top of most people's lists in the race for snowboarding's GOAT.
Travis Rice
Casual spectators may know this name the most due to how he survived an avalanche. Travis Rice is more than just a survivor of a tragedy. He has two X Games gold medals, a silver, and bronze under his belt. Moreover, he has 30 major wins alongside these other accolades which solidifies him as one of the best in the sport. Despite not winning the Olympics, he is still making a big impact with his avalanche awareness campaign.
Danny Kass
If Danny Kass had been put up against other competitors during his prime, he might have been the greatest to have stepped foot on the board. He was only able to win two silver medals in the Olympics but has been able to notch seven X Games medals, and five US Open championships. Overall, this insane man on the slopes was beast who just happened to have faced other generational greats at the peak of his powers.
