July 9 is the birthday of Suni Lee, who was born in St. Paul, MN, and grew to become a gold-winning gymnast at the Olympics, where she made history as the first-ever Hmong-American Olympic gold-sensing Gymnasts. Her spectacular performance in the women's all-around competition at Tokyo 2020, on her way to winning gold, earned her worldwide attention. Suni herself has shown remarkable resilience on her journey, overcoming physical adversity, including a life-changing injury to her father, who is now paralyzed. Jaylin Smith was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 17, 2001. His speed and agility make him one of the most talented shooting guards in state history, standing at 6 feet 5 inches. "She understands what it feels like to come under criticism and scrutiny — And we pick each other up when things get tough," he said.

However, they have also learned to establish barriers that protect their personal lives from the public. In an interview, Suni revealed: "We are just trying to keep our relationship not a secret.
