Inside Tara Davis Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall's Relationship

Tara and Hunter met in 2017 at an Idaho high school track meet. Their first meeting was punctuated with a common love of sports and an immediate bond. It was, as Hunter described it, love at first sight. He was immediately smitten and texted a friend that he would marry Tara one day. Then, a relationship was built over lengthy phone calls despite the miles between them.

Major Relationship Milestones

Tara and Hunter managed to stay in touch through social media after meeting and then began a long-distance relationship. Tara stated: "We were in totally different states, but you made it work through communication and encouragement!"

In 2021, their relationship arguably hit its most significant point when Hunter proposed to Tara over the summer during a couple's vacation in Mexico following the Olympics. The couple tied the knot with their family and friends on Oct. 16, 2022, at D'Vine Grace Vineyard in McKinney, TX.

Challenges They Have Faced

Tara and Hunter also have their struggles, just as all couples do, especially when navigating a long-distance relationship. They've been open about the hard work it takes to navigate a relationship with two world-class athletes at different stages in their careers and even point back to those same principles of communication, respecting boundaries, and time as key factors. Hunter mentioned the power of knowing and being able to help each other's aspirations, and Tara wrote about empathy states with listening skills.

Despite these struggles in their marriage, Tara and Hunter continued to take steps forward into truth with each other, learning from difficult experiences and growing alongside one another.

Until 2024, Tara and Hunter were endorsed by one another for both personal and professional reasons. Their YouTube channel has allowed fans to go along on the ride of navigating life as a couple and professional athletes closer than ever before. Their channel has now become a space for them to engage with almost 800,000 subscribers as they offer glimpses into their workouts, personal achievements, and the inner workings of their relationship.

Tara and Hunter both have promising futures ahead of them in their athletic careers. The power couple of Tara, who won gold last summer at the Paris 2024 Olympics in women's long jump, and Hunter, who is gearing up to compete this week during the Paralympic Games. They've been through so much together and grown even closer, which is a prelude to what will surely come from their great future accomplishments.
