If there is a team that is getting hit the most by the injury bug, it is the Miami Dolphins. Mike McDaniel already saw Tua Tagovailoa go down and now they have a new headache to worry about. Their second string quarterback, Skylar Thompson, went down in their loss against the Seattle Seahawks. How bad is his injury? The head honcho gave us an answer.
Mike McDaniel gets real on Skylar Thompson's injury
There was no clarity as to which body part of Skylar Thompson's ached during their loss to the Seahawks. Coach Mike McDaniel just had to pull him from the game and field Tim Boyle in order to err on the side of caution.
After the game, Coach McDaniel outlined that the injury could be severe.
“I haven't talked to Skylar as of the end of the game. It was a rib injury that was pretty painful. And half the pain or half of the frustration for him, I think, was he was trying to find a way to not come out of the game. And ultimately it was pretty painful. He fought through it, but we'll get a chance to look at him tomorrow," the Dolphins head honcho declared.
Shorthanded Dolphins get crushed by the Seahawks
Thompson's performance before going down just was not enough to get the Dolphins any sort of momentum, He only completed 13 of his 19 passing attempts for a disappointing total of 107 yards. Moreover, the signal-caller also could not get a single touchdown going for his squad.
Boyle was also not able to get the Dolphins back into this game. He only notched 79 yards while making seven out of his 13 passes. All in all, McDaniel's offense produced a horrid 3.7-yard gain per play and getting sacked six times did not help their case at all.
