What is the biggest Indoor Football League?

The Indoor Football League has grown into a big name in the football league. A closer look at what makes the IFL the best league in professional indoor football.

League Overview

  • The IFL merged with the Intense Football League in 2008 and United Indoor Football in 2009, making it one of the older active professional indoor football leagues.

  • Of the indoor football leagues, its 16 teams in two conferences rank it among the most functional.

  • This is a 16-week league so it offers the chance to watch indoor football over an extended season.

Player Compensation

  • Each IFL player makes between US$250–500 per game played and the winners get bonuses for every week.

  • Other teams provide housing for players throughout the season, a living arrangement that would certainly serve as some way of showing depth to their players.

Professionalism and Talent

  • The IFL is home to the best indoor football players and coaches on Earth who follow in line with playing for top-tier competition.

  • It is a high-paying minor league, and more than 150 players have signed contracts with NFL or CFL teams, indicating the level of talent it draws.

Expansion and Footprint

  • The IFL is the only Indoor Football League with a national footprint. There are 16 teams playing across earning league play, and expansion is happening soon.

  • What is notable is that 10 of the 16 teams sit in the top 50 media markets, underscoring where the league has a foothold.

Unique Product and Leadership

  • IFL provides an exciting product. It is played on a 50-yard field surrounded by padded walls, unlike traditional outdoor football.

  • Commissioner Todd Tryon has a long-standing knowledge of the league, as he has also played, coached, and owned it.

Our Cause, Mission, and Guiding Principles

  • The IFL's mission is to provide competitive games that showcase the skill of each player, and when possible will meet its fans face-to-face.

  • It strives to be the premier provider of family friendly sports entertainment known for its strong style, athleticism and innovation.

  • Its core values are respect, integrity, leadership and quality while it believes in professionalism both on-and off-the-court and that those who play should do so to give-back positive results from their communities.

The IFL has established itself as an innovative leader in professional indoor football, having 10 leagues in five states contributing to the ever-growing popularity of the fan experience and franchise success.
