The Denver Broncos are finally on the win column after they crushed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sean Payton has made really good adjustments to ensure that they did not go win-loss after Week 3. A big benefactor in those shakeups was Bo Nix. The rookie quarterback looked like a veteran and even got a big endorsement from Courtland Sutton. What did the star defender say about their signal-caller? Let's uncover it.
Bo Nix goes nuclear against the Buccaneers defense
Sean Payton has protected Nix well through the Broncos offensive line. This helped the rookie deliver his passes well. He might still be struggling with first year jitters after missing 11 of 36 passing attempts but the fact that he gave them 216 yards was already astounding.
Obviously, the Broncos still have some reservations when it comes to purely relying on an air attack. The fact that they ran the ball 28 times proved this but it did not mean that Nix was not involved. This rookie was tasked to carry the ball nine times and he delivered 47 rushing yards alongside a touchdown. He surely has the tools to become an all-around star in the league. Even his teammates see how great his potential can be.
Courtland Sutton gushes over the Broncos QB1
With his recent performance, Sean Payton and the rest of the Broncos have clearly learned to trust Nix in high-pressure situations. Their defensive anchor even gave him huge props after putting up big numbers against a tough Buccaneers line and secondary.
“Him being able to see the defense and understanding the game plan and knowing what plays will work for us, it's encouraging to see that, because it's only his third week. I think I've spoken at length about it still being early for him. The strides that he's made so far are very encouraging, but he's only going to continue to get better. The more he sees defenses, the more he gets reps, the more he gets to be able to go out there and see the full-speed game reps, he's only going to continue to get better," Sutton declared.
Will Nix be able to lead the Broncos back into the postseason with his built up acumen?
