TJ Watt is more than just an angry defensive menace for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has gone on to impress a lot of fans with his philanthropy and general kindness off the field. No one saw his smile and generosity in life for than Dani Rhodes. His wife has been very supportive of him in every step of the way but she has also has made a big name for herself in the world of soccer.
Dani Rhodes and TJ Watt got married in 2022. The two have been dating since their college days in University of Wisconsin-Madison and did not look for other people since. Back then, Watt was just trying to make it to the NFL while Rhodes was finding a path to play professional soccer.
Everything panned out for the two. Watt got picked up by the Steelers while Rhodes became a star. In fact, she even played with Watt's sister-in-law during her brief stint with the Chicago Red Stars.
Eventually, she had to pick being a mother and loving wife over being a professional soccer player. Rhodes retired in 2023 just a year after they got married. While the emotions may have been blurry, it was because they wanted to start a family and welcome a child into the world.
"This was not an easy decision for me, but my body and my mind are ready and excited for another chapter. This game introduced me to so many amazing people, took me to places around the world that I could only dream of, and taught me how to overcome adversity," she said.
Right now, they are expecting their first child and the Steelers defensive star is doing everything that he can to provide for their family.
