Are the Panthers going to make a run with Andy Dalton?

Dave Canales made a tough decision to bench Bryce Young against the Las Vegas Raiders and it paid off. Carolina Panthers fans saw a vintage Andy Dalton performance which led to them improving their season record to 1-2. Is the faithful supposed to expect the veteran to start for the rest of the season? Let's have deep dive into it in this article.
Panthers steamroll the Raiders en route to their first win
The air was just different at Allegiant Stadium but it did not favor the hometown-favorite Raiders. Maxx Crosby and the rest of Antonio Pierce's men on defense could not quite get to Andy Dalton in this Week 3 clash. In fact, the veteran signal-caller made 26 out of his 37 passes for a whopping 319 yards.
Dalton's damage to the Raiders defense did not just stop on delivering after every down. He was able to notch three touchdowns without getting picked off. Admittedly, the signal-caller got sacked twice but it did not stop the Panthers offense from continuously moving. By the end of the match, the team from Carolina got the 36-22 victory.
Will Andy Dalton be the solution to Dave Canales' woes?
It's difficult to answer the question given that the sample size is just one game. However, Dalton's performance in one game eclipsed every outing that Bryce Young has exhibited so far. It even inspired guys like Robert Hunt to make big proclamations about their chances of getting on a hot streak as the season goes by.
"We got time, we just gotta put it together. I think today was a good stepping stone to do that and hopefully next week at home in the Bank, y’all come on out there don’t run away. Take them damn brown bags off and let's try to get this thing going man," Hunt declared.
There are still so many games left in the season. However, if the Panthers do win against the Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears, they could very well have a good shot of making the postseason.
