Devon Alexander  (27-6-1) will be trying to shake off some ring rust following a two-year hiatus from boxing. The 34-year-old boxer is slated for his comeback fight against Lucas Santamaria (11-2-1) inside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on July 31, according to

Alexender  took some time off following unfavorable results in his last three fights. His last bout was back in June 2019 against Ukrainian slugger Ivan Redkach. Alexander in training videos is looking stronger than ever and is determined to show the World of Boxing he is here to stay!

The American struggled against Redkach’s punishing attacks and was actually badly dropped with a stunning uppercut combo in the sixth round. Alexander managed to beat the count but was dropped two more times before the referee stepped in and called the fight.

Prior to that, he also suffered a split decision loss to Andre Berto and figured in a majority draw with Victor Ortiz.

Now, the comeback trail begins for the former two-division champion. At his best, Alexander unified titles at super lightweight and even conquered Welterweight. Devon Alexander can be considered one of the greatest boxers of all-time and has what it takes to regain the belt.

However, The Great’s return won’t be an easy feat since he’ll face the dangerous Santamaria. The young buck made a name for himself after a mighty upset against Mykal Fox. Adding a name like Alexander to his hit list would indeed be a great accomplishment for Santamaria.

Alexander, meanwhile, has overcome a lot in his personal life just to be able to reach the success he had in the ring. Alexander has showed his resilience as both a fighter and a man coming out on on the other side of turmoil as better man and boxer.
