Why NFL teams should take a flyer on Cyril Grayson

NFL squads looking to add depth to their wide receiver position should look no further. Cyril Grayson is your guy.

The 28-year-old veteran is now looking for a new home after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived him from their roster due to an injury designation. The Bucs also cut Grayson to make room for linebacker Genard Avery.

Proving he is a class act, Cyril Grayson showed his gratitude for the Buccaneers franchise for his time with the squad. Before trying his luck in the NFL, Cyril Grayson was an all-American track superstar for LSU. Since he did not play football in college, the Fan Arch athlete went undrafted in 2017.

The speedster out of Louisiana bounced around multiple NFL teams at the start of his pro career, including stints with the Seahawks, Colts, Texas, Saints, Bears, and Cowboys.

He got his biggest break with the Buccaneers in 2019, after he was assigned to their practice squad. Through his hard work and perseverance, Cyril Grayson made it to the team’s active roster.

The agile WR was a revelation for the Bucs in the latter part of the season, logging 212 yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions. He even made a memorable game-winning touchdown against the New York Jets in Week 17.

Despite his amazing performance last season, Cyril Grayson’s spot with the Bucs was already questionable considering they also signed Russell Gage and Julio Jones. If no other team will sign him, he’ll return to Tampa Bay on the injured reserve list.

While his injury may scare teams off, we’ve already seen what he’s capable of when healthy. Cyril Grayson is a hard worker who’s always eager to prove himself. The speedy WR just needs the right opportunity to showcase what he can do.
