Nathaniel Peat is coming home. In case you missed it, the Tigers officially welcomed the Columbia, Missouri native at the beginning of the year after transferring from Stanford.
After a three-year stint with the Cardinal, Nathaniel Peat entered the transfer portal in 2021. The 3-star running back was immediately linked to Missouri because of his roots, while Tiger fans pleaded to get him. The football gods answered their prayers and brought Mizzou’s own home.

Nathaniel Peat had his fair share of suitors, too, receiving interest from powerhouse programs like Oklahoma State, Iowa, Purdue, and Washington State, among others. But the allure of playing for his home state was just too hard to pass up, and Nathaniel Peat chose to follow his heart.
Nathaniel Peat brings a lot to the table for Mizzou, considering he was Stanford’s leading rusher (404). The 5-foot-8, 170 lbs. RB appeared in 12 games for the Cardinal in his final season, where he also recorded three touchdowns.
Nathaniel Peat’s breakout game came against a ranked USC team, where he notched a career-best 115-yard performance for Stanford.

While Nathaniel Peat’s numbers don’t exactly stand out among his fellow RBs, he’s exactly the type of player the Tigers need right now. Nathaniel Peat possesses a stocky, NFL-ready build. He’s also a patient runner with good vision, which perfectly compliments his quickness and agility on the field.
Furthermore, Nathaniel Peat is also an underrated kick-off returner, and we know Mizzou needs a lot of help in that area. He led the Pac-12 in kickoff return yardage last season at Stanford, recording 24.6 yards per return.
Plus, we know players tend to play even better when they’re comfortable with their surroundings. There’s really no place like home for Nathaniel Peat, and we can’t wait to see him play in front of his people.
