What devised his menu? What foods does he like to eat, and what are the effects of food on his journey? 


Who is Ronnie Coleman?

He was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1964, Ronnie Coleman is one of the most prominent bodybuilding legends. At 5'11" and 300 in his prime, the numbers speak volumes about his commitment and sheer physical ability of Coleman. His biggest legacy arguably lies in his performances at bodybuilding competitions (eight-time Mr. Olympia winner), as this made him one of the best bodybuilders in peoples memory.


Ronnie Coleman's Weird Eating

Ronnie Coleman drops a few bomb shells about his eating preference in a recent episode of Ronnie's podcast. However, Coleman's diet plan was about as far from the gym-bro concept that bodybuilders live off broccoli and turkey breast. He admitted his hatred for green vegetables and how his coach Chad Nicholls had to create a different kind of diet specifically for him. Coleman had quite a common list of go-to food items. His principal diet included the following ingredients:
Chicken and rice
Steak and potatoes
Turkey


He hated fish and had an incredibly narrow diet. Despite how meticulous he is, Coleman insists that his diet remained paramount, specifically in his professional bodybuilding career.


The King's Pre-Olympia Diet

Ronnie Coleman diet: The meal plan Ronnie used during his competition days to fuel that intense workouts. With his 6 meal-a-day diet he was consuming up to 5000 calories regularly. Loaded in protein, around 65% protein, 20-25% carbs, and 5-10% fat, his diet was squarely anchored with protein. Coleman's commitment to his dietary plan, combined with his dedication to the craft, was an important part of how he was able to create an amazing physical transformation.


Effect of His Diet on His Success

His diet was made up of nearly 800 grams of protein per day combined with his unending hours of workout shot him at the very top of the bodybuilding universe. The extraordinary lengths that he went to fuel his performance, including forcing himself to eat double what an average person could eat and waking up in the middle of the night to have a sixth meal, displayed a virtually insatiable appetite.
In conclusion, Ronnie Coleman followed one of the weirdest diets for bodybuilders at the time, but it worked out well and gave him the best physique possible.
