Fastest man alive: Fred Kerley is on a mission to become track’s biggest superstar

Fastest man alive: Fred Kerley is on a mission to become ...

Fred Kerley is a man with big dreams.

The decorated track superstar and proud Fan Arch athlete recently shared a post of the highest-paid athletes in the world.  That list included sports megastars like LeBron James, Lionel Messi, Roger Federer, and Tiger Woods, amongst others.

Fred Kerley added a caption: “Me soon”.

Nothing wrong with speaking it to existence. We already know Fred Kerley has the burning desire and work ethic to make it a reality.

Track and field is still in search of its next big star in the post-Usain Bolt era. It’s practically wide-open for the taking. Fred Kerley has the credentials, the drive, the talent, but most importantly — the hunger to be the sports’ top dog.

Blessed with a 6-foot-3 athletic frame, Fred Kerley also just turned 27. He’s not even in his prime yet.

Fred Kerley rose to prominence after winning three medals for Team USA in the 2020 Olympics. He won a gold medal in the 4x400m relay, a silver medal in the 100m, and a bronze in the 400m.

“All I was thinking about was ‘gold medal’,” he said. “That was my expectation. I accomplished something but silver is not all right – I wanted gold."

Fred Kerley bounced back a few weeks later, winning two gold titles in the Diamond League, in the 400m and 100m. The Fan Arch athlete even put himself in the record books, becoming only the third man in history to run under 10 seconds for 100m, under 20 seconds for 200m, and under 44 seconds for 400m. He joins Wayde van Niekerk and Michael Norman.
