Why did Kendre Harrison choose Oregon?

There are a lot of reasons that a team gives such that a five-star prospect picks them over the rest of the schools in the nation. The Oregon Ducks had a very big pull on Kendre Harrison. Dan Lanning did not have to put out any sort of new schemes or huge car in order to land one of the best tight ends in the nation. What did we have instead? Well, it was the pull of Dana Altman and their basketball team.
Kendre Harrison knew that he would be highly coveted by any football program. However, he leveraged his five-star status in order to pursue another athletic passion in basketball. He will get to play alongside the Oregon Ducks' basketball and football teams come next season. If everything goes well, he might even make an appearance in both March Madness and the College Football Playoff in just his freshman year.
A lot of great NFL players turned out to be great at other sports too. However, this might be the first time in years that someone who is a football star pursued their NBA dreams rather than the MLB.
Furthermore, Harrison also had other big reason as to why Oregon was the pick: “That visit made a big impact on me. I thought about it for a couple of more weeks and I knew it was Oregon. About two weeks after I got back from that game, my mind was made up. The atmosphere was insane at the Ohio State game. The fans, the play of the tight ends and the coaching of the team were some of the highlights. Oregon is the total package. I chose Oregon because of their player development, the coaching I will get there, the culture and the place. I like Eugene a lot.”
