NIL has tipped the balance of recruitment towards the Power Four. Oftentimes, these big programs have larger budgets to offer players which has allowed them to notch huge personalities out of high school and the transfer portal. Ashton Jeanty might be a big exception despite playing for Boise State. This Heisman Trophy finalist for 2024 has been able to defy expectations and was even close to winning the award. How much has he gotten in his college career so far?
Group of 5 schools are typically undermined because of their strength of schedule in comparison to Power Four programs. But, Ashton Jeanty was a brand of his own and a lot of companies have gone on to gravitate towards him. His Heisman Trophy finalist performance in Boise State left a lot of fans in awe, along with that came endorsement opportunities which he could not refuse.
The Boise Hawks and SAXX Underwear have all reached out to him which helped his NIL value skyrocket. In fact, he is the only Group of 5 and Mountain West Conference player to have been ranked in the NIL 100. His NIL value has him seated at 15th in the nation which comes to no one's surprise because he could very well become a generational running back like Saquon Barkley or Emmitt Smith in the NFL.
When all the numbers are crunched, Jeanty has an estimated NIL valuation of $1.6 million. This number is huge in comparison to other stars who play in the Power Four. Not to mention, the figures will only balloon from here on as he gets closer to becoming a prospect in the NFL Draft. He may not have won the Heisman Trophy in 2024 but his earnings were quite huge due to his performances.
