Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook are without a doubt two of the most competitive players in the NBA today. These two have had their fair share of run-ins in the past, and now that they’re teammates with the Los Angeles Lakers, these two vets will now look to put their “beef” behind them.

Rondo recently opened up about the prospect of playing alongside Westbrook. According to Rondo, he’s definitely looking forward to sharing the floor with a guy like Russ:

“More excitement, more energy in practice,” Rondo said, via Corey Hansford of Lakers Nation. “Looking forward to a lot more competitive competitions with him and other guys on the team. So it’s a hell of a team as far as a lot of competitors and I’m looking forward to getting better each day in practice with those guys.”

I can only imagine how intense practice sessions will be for the Lakers now that they have both Rondo and Westbrook on board. LeBron James is by no means a pushover as well, so at this point, it would be safe to assume that there won’t be any “easy” practice days for LA. There are a few other competitive guys on their roster too, so things should be fun.

That will all be for nothing, though, unless the Lakers achieve their ultimate goal at the end of the season. It goes without saying that it will be championship or bust for the Purple & Gold in 2021-22. Can they actually do it? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
