Gabby Thomas became the second fastest woman of all-time after posting a time of 21.61 in the women's 200m olympic trials final. Thomas finishes ahead of her idol and track inspiration Allyson Felix who missed out on the 200m team as she finished 6th in Saturday’s final. Felix has already booked her place in what will be an historic 5th olympic games after qualifying for her preferred event, the 400m.

Gabby Thomas sets a new world lead time and breaks Allyson Felix’s Olympic trials record set back in 2012 to lead this new generation of USA sprinters along with Sha'Carri Richardson’s blistering performance in the 100m last week. Jenna Prandini set a PB of 21.89 alongside Anavia Battle to round off Team USA’s 200m sprinters for this summer’s games.
